Who We Are

Based in Kennebunk, Maine, we are the Seaglass Chorale, a non-auditioned community chorus with over 50 singers. The Sea Tones is a smaller select group that sings a capella.

Do I have to audition?

No audition is required. All singers are welcome.

When is the first rehearsal?

Our first rehearsal for the 2024 Winter Concert will be on September 19th.

When do you rehearse?

Our regular weekly rehearsals are Thursday evenings, 6:00-7:00 pm, with two seasons per year: September to early December for our holiday concerts, and January to April or May for our spring concerts. Extra Saturday morning rehearsals are scheduled as needed. We also have one or two dress rehearsals (usually at the concert venue) for each concert series.

Where do you rehearse?

Our regular rehearsals are at St. David's Episcopal Church at 138 York Street in Kennebunk, Maine.

When are your concerts?

Our typical concert schedule is two holiday concerts in early or mid-December and two or more concerts in the spring. We sometimes perform at other special events as well.

What are the financial commitments?

Membership dues are $85 per season. There is an additional charge for music, typically $20 to $30 per season. Concert attire is a tuxedo shirts and black pants for men, and white tops with black bottoms for women. Scholarships are available for those who need them. Please ask!

Teri Barrow Memorial Fund

The seaglass Board of Directors in connection with the Barrow family has established a memorial fund in memory of Teri Barrow, a dearly loved member of Seaglass Chorale for over 25 years.

Teri first arrived with a love of music, but little to no vocal training, and unable to read music. She auditioned to sing in a Seaglass summer musical, but didn’t make the cut. Jean suggested Teri join Seaglass -- and she did! Teri was intrepid and had a good ear. The following year, with lots of hard work and through Jean’s tutelage, Teri learned to sing, breathe, and perform. The next year, Teri auditioned for another Seaglass summer musical and this time she did make the cut!

Whether a fellow singer or just a lover of good music, please join with us in honoring Teri’s memory by contributing, at Teri’s family’s wish, to the Teri Barrow memorial fund. All funds go directly to pay for any singers who have financial need and who want to join. Just use the adjacent donation link to  securely donate to our 501(c)3 charitable organization.

Thank you for honoring Teri and for your support of our mission to promote and deliver the finest musical performances and the love and appreciation of music.
